Media, PA – District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer announced the arrest of John Blythe-McNally, 27, of Holmes, PA, as a result of a month-long undercover investigation into drug trafficking by the Delaware County Drug Task Force, assisted by the Ridley Township and Chester Police Departments. Acting pursuant to a search warrant, on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, the defendant was arrested with a substantial quantity of drugs, a shot gun, cash and drug paraphernalia. He has been charged with the possession and delivery of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, as well as a felony firearms charge.
“It has been a great week for the members of the Delaware County Drug Task Force, and for Delaware County. As a result of the work of the Task Force, earlier this week I announced the arrest of two individuals with a substantial quantity of cocaine. Today I can announce the arrest of an individual who was actively engaged in the sale of a substantial quantity and variety of drugs in our community. Apprehending drug dealers takes hard work and courage – as well as patience and diligence. I want to commend the members of the Drug Task Force for their work in shutting down the defendant’s operation. Their work truly keeps our communities safer, and we all owe them a debt of gratitude,” said DA Stollsteimer.
On the morning of January 27, members of the Task Force executed a warrant at 2128 E. McDade Blvd., Apt B, in the Holmes section of Ridley Township. The search of the premises resulted in the seizure of:
1. 12 gauge Mossberg pistol grip shotgun
2. Approximately 38 lbs. of marijuana
3. 65 grams of methamphetamine
4. 39 oxycodone pills
5. 24 Adderall pills
6. 29 alprazolam pills
7. $1,742.00 in U.S Currency
8. A THC Press
9. Cutting agent for the methamphetamine
10. Digital scales and drug paraphernalia
The defendant had pleaded guilty to felony charges in 2012 and, as a convicted felon, was not lawfully able to possess a firearm.
“I want to commend the members of the Delaware County Drug Task Force, led by CID Sgt. Anthony Ruggeri and Deputy DA Laurie Moore. I would also like to specifically commend the hard work of Detective Sean Brydges and Detective Jerry Scanlan of the Ridley Township Police Department for their tireless efforts in investigating this illegal narcotics operation,” said DA Stollsteimer.
In addition to a felony firearms charge, the defendant has been charged with:
35 P.S. § 780-113(a)(30) – Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver;
35 P.S. § 780-113(a)(16) – Possession of Controlled Substance;
35 P.S. § 780-113(a)(32) – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia;
The defendant was arraigned and bail was set at $500,000 (10%). He was remanded to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility.
