Boy Scout Leader and Former Girard College Teacher Charged With Unlawful Sexual Contact With Student

Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer today announced that charges have been filed against Keith Steininger, 68, of Upland Borough, for sexual contact with a student, indecent assault of a person less than 13, unlawful contact with a minor, endangering the welfare of a child, and related offenses. In July 2022, defendant Steininger retired from Girard College after 41 years where, in addition to being a teacher, he served as a troop leader of a Boy Scout troop based at the College. The College is a boarding school for children from families headed by a single parent or a guardian.

Attorney General Henry and District Attorney Stollsteimer Report on Law Enforcement Treatment Initiative; County Council Chair Taylor Reports on Opioid Settlement Project Funding

CHESTER, PA – Attorney General Michelle Henry and Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer today announced the results of the Attorney General’s Law Enforcement Treatment Initiative (LETI) in Delaware County. LETI is a program that diverts individuals with a substance use disorder away from the criminal justice system and into treatment. The AG and the DA were joined by Delaware County Council Chair Dr. Monica Taylor, who provided an update on the progress being made in addressing the opioid epidemic utilizing funds obtained from the opioid settlement funding. That funding – $63 million over eighteen years – was obtained through a settlement of litigation against opioid distributors initiated by both the DA and County Council.
