Special Investigations Division:
This division is commanded by a lieutenant and conducts investigations into sensitive matters.
- Political crime or corruption and election fraud.
- Investigations of accusations against municipal police organizations.
- Use of force by law enforcement investigations.
- Investigations of all manner of Child abuse.
- Computer Forensics unit.
This division also contains the Internet Crimes Against Children task force hub for the state of Pennsylvania.
Homicide and Violent Crime Division:
This division is commanded by a lieutenant and conducts investigations into equivocal death, illegal firearms, and other violent crimes.
The division contains the Crime Scene Investigative Unit, Accident Reconstruction, Fingerprint Identification, and Ballistics.
As well as coordination of the District Attorneys task force on illegal narcotics
General Investigative Division:
This division is commanded by a lieutenant and conducts investigations not covered by the Special Investigation and Homicide and Violent Crime Divisions.
They specialize in the following:
- Insurance fraud
- Embezzlement
- Elder crimes
- Vehicle theft investigations
- Arson investigation and the Delaware County Bomb Squad are also covered by this Division.
