Media, PA – District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer announced the arrest of Jamal Rose, 30, and his spouse, DaShonna Rose, 30, both of Glenolden, PA, as a result of a month-long undercover investigation into drug trafficking by the Delaware County Drug Task Force, assisted by the Folcroft and Glenolden Police Departments. Acting pursuant to a search warrant, on Monday, March 14, 2022, the defendants were arrested with a substantial quantity of drugs, multiple weapons and ammunition, cash and drug paraphernalia. They have been charged with the possession and delivery of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. In addition, defendant Jamal Rose has been charged with a felony firearms charge.
“Drug dealers, particularly those who possess automatic weapons to protect their illegal operations, present a real danger to everyone in our community. Thanks to the work of the Delaware County Drug Task Force, two more dealers and their weapons have now been removed the streets of Glenolden,” said District Attorney Stollsteimer.
On the evening of March 14, 2022, members of the Task Force took the defendant Jamal Rose into police custody in the 600 block of Grant Road in Glenolden. Following his arrest, officers recovered from his person cocaine and marijuana, both of which were field tested, as well as cash, a phone, and a folding knife. Following the arrest, members of the Task Force executed a warrant at the defendant’s residence at 313 Sharp Avenue in Glenolden. Defendant DaShonna Rose was present at the premises at the time of the search. The search of the premises resulted in the seizure of:
- Smith and Wesson M&P Shield, plus ammunition;
- Taurus 709 Slim 9mm, plus 50 rounds of ammunition;
- Kel-tec P11, 9mm Lugar, plus ammunition;
- Cocaine;
- Marijuana;
- Drug paraphernalia;
- Currency in excess of $25,000.
“I want to commend the members of the Delaware County Drug Task Force, led by Criminal Investigation Division Sgt. Anthony Ruggeri and Deputy District Attorney Laurie Moore. I would also like to specifically commend the hard work of Folcroft Officer (and Task Force member) Thomas Kesser and Darby Township Officer (and Task Force member) Sean Gallagher for their tireless efforts in investigating this illegal narcotics operation,” said Stollsteimer.
35 P.S. § 780-113(a)(30) – Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver; 35 P.S. § 780-113(a)(16) – Possession of Controlled Substance;
35 P.S. § 780-113(a)(16) – Possession of Marijuana;
35 P.S. § 780-113(a)(32) – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Defendant Jamal Rose was arraigned and bail was set at $250,000 (10%), and defendant DaShonna Rose had her bail set at $150,000 cash. Both defendants have been remanded to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Walter Strohl has been scheduled for March 30, 2022 for both defendants.
